The Mole and The Rat

Folk Tale . 3:38

Title: The Mole and The Rat
Language: Sangtam
Description: Many, many years ago, jungle rat and mole were good friends. But it so happened that
once, under a thick bush, they picked up an argument over a trifle matter. The jungle rat, out of his anger, unmindfully pushed down his friend, mole, to the place where there was full of faeces. As a result, the body of the mole was smeared with the faces which reeked foul smell. This infuriated the mole, who then, picked up a red-ash from the burning fire and threw it at the ribs of the jungle rat. The red-ash burnt the fur of the jungle rat. Due to this burning it caused spots on his belly. Even today this jungle rat is recognized by its spotted belly.
