Description: A family has two brothers, an older brother and a younger brother. Their parents go to the fields, leaving the boys at home. 
The older brother orders the younger brother to fetch firewood and water, making him do chores while he himself stays home. 
The younger brother becomes very hungry but is not given any food by his older brother. In anger and despair, the younger brother transforms into a small bird (kongliang). He flies into the forest, singing a mournful song, and is never seen again, leaving his parents heartbroken.
