This video showcases and explains one of the traditional attires that is MEKHELA worn by women and how it has meaning in the old days and even today. The first one, that is PULOSUMINI, is worn by the bride during the engagement. Secondly, ABOMINI is worn by the wife of a wealthy man and it has 9 lines. They kill Mithun and invite into their fields people of more than one village. Lastly, LOTOSUMINI is one of the significant traditional attires. In the old days, it was only worn by the wife of the wealthy, the head of a village or the rich and who had a good name in society but at present, everyone and anyone can wear it.
