The North East India Indigenous People’s Archive (NEIIPA), a non profit organisation, is an online community initiative dedicated to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous people of North East India. Established in September 2023, NEIIPA invites all members of the indigenous community to actively participate in preserving their oral traditions, visual narratives, and written legacies.
At its core, NEIIPA serves as a repository for the invaluable collective wisdom and cultural expressions of the region’s indigenous communities. The project recognises the urgency of safeguarding indigenous knowledge, language, and learning before they fade into obscurity. By providing a platform for the indigenous population to share and curate their cherished memories, NEIIPA aims to ensure that these vital aspects of their heritage are not lost to the passage of time.
NEIIPA stands as a testament to the resilience and commitment of the North East Indian indigenous communities in preserving their unique identities and the vibrant tapestry of their cultural traditions. Through active engagement with NEIIPA, these communities can both celebrate their heritage and contribute to a lasting legacy for future generations to cherish and learn from.
